Alumni

Our Alumni Since the inception of Peacebuilders Initiative in 2003, we are extremely proud to have "graduated" six groups of young people from our program--more than 200 in all. Our alums can be found around Chicago and at great colleges and universities around the country.

Get Involved!

What will I do as a Peacebuilder?

As a Peacebuilder, you'll be participating in three major events over the course of a school year: the Summer Program, Fall and Spring Retreats, and a Peace Project, which you'll design and implement yourself.

How much does it cost?

Current Participants

Stay connected with other Peacebuilders throughout the year by joining our official Facebook group.

You can also stay informed by checking our calendar of events  regularly or participating in the discussion on our message board.

Youth

Are you the kind of person who wants to change the world?  Are you interested in being an integral part of the church's mission of peace and justice?  Do you think you have what it takes to become a visionary leader in your community, the church, your neighborhood or school?

If so, we hope that you will join the Peacebuilders Initiative and find out how to take part in a year-long, life changing journey.

100 For Peace

Sponsor a Peacebuilder!

Peacebuilders Initiative relies on the generosity of caring individuals who believe in giving young people the opportunity to explore their faith and develop their talents. “100 for Peace” invites 100 individuals to make an impact on the lives of committed high school youth, the community in which they live and the wider church. Sponsors will be connected with an individual Peacebuilder for one year. You will receive regular correspondence and updates on peace projects.

Peacebuilders Initiative

Be a Peacebuilder!

"You're a part of the church here and now, and you have a contribution to make."
– Cardinal Joseph Bernardin, Archbishop of Chicago, 1928-1996

Have you ever thought of yourself as a peacebuilder? A leader? Someone who wants to make a difference in your school, parish, or community?

Peace Talk

What is peace?

What does the Catholic church have to say about peace and reconciliation? What do you have to say? Got a burning question that you need answered?

This is the place to read, learn, and talk about peace. Peace Talk lets you discuss peace and justice and respond to current events. It is a place to talk to other Peacebuilders from all around the world, people who share similar interests, people who may shed a different light on things.
