June: Moving On
June is a time for transition. It's traditionally a month of endings and beginnings: finishing the school year, graduation, starting a new job, travel, and more.
But change can be frightening. We are all asked periodically throughout our lives to give up the "old"-the familiar, the comfortable-to embark on something "new" and unknown. This watershed moment can be seen either as an exciting challenge, or a reason to stay in bed with the covers pulled over our heads.
Scary is not insurmountable, however. No matter what the challenge ahead, as people of faith we never have to go it alone. We all have back-up, a source of inspiration and comfort as we venture into the great, unknown world. Jesus says at the end of Matthew's gospel, "And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age."
Whatever your transitions this month, these activities are a reminder of God's loving companionship in the next phase of your journey.
